Christmas Travels and 2014 in Review

It’s been over a week since I posted (what a surprise!) due to travelling and spending non-internet time with friends and family. I’m copying Heather and doing a one-sentence-per-picture post to catch you up on all my activities over the past week-ish.

Traffic on I-70 is never a good time.

I convinced Mom to take a post-workout selfie after our gym time on Christmas Eve.

As we made this year’s Christmas cards, J and I realized we had basically no pictures together, so we took one before church on Christmas Eve.

I ran by a Christmas tree farm (sorry if you can’t tell that’s what it is. My fingers were cold) on Christmas Day, in lightly falling snow. So festive.

On the other side of the mountains, we spent some time with J’s family… including this adorably ornery nephew.

And now we’re back home, spending the last bit of Christmas break relaxing and catching up on stuff at home.

In other news, WordPress sent me an e-mail with my blog’s annual report today, and I thought it would be fun to share that with you. Enjoy!

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 12,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Click here to see the complete report.

What was the best part of your Christmas?

Any fun plans for New Year’s? I’ll be at home. I’ll probably be in bed by 10. I don’t mind at all; it feels good to be home, and it’s so cold that I don’t want to leave the house. I’m a grandma.

If you’re a blogger, what was your favorite post of 2014? I think mine would have to be this one, even though it didn’t make the top-five list in the WordPress report.

  1. I love how you seem to live in a winter wonderland! Except the crazy winter traffic :S That’s pretty cool how word press sends you the annual report! I don’t think Blogger does that but I’ll certainly dig around and see if I can find a view total…lol. Best wishes for 2015 and I have really enjoyed reading your blog. 🙂 Heather @ GGR

  2. I’m not a big fan of New Years eve celebrations. We’ll stay home and watch movies. As a new blogger this year, I was thrilled (still am) to have anyone read my posts! Happy New Year!

  3. Man! I totally picked the wrong blogging vehicle! I want a fun report! ANYWAY! You totally could have used the picture of you and J on your favorite post. The one with the bikes (sounds like a Friends episode.) Not that I didn’t like the ones you used. Just thought I would be helpful! Glad you are back home. Should we try to hang out one more time before we go back?

  4. You and your hubby make a great looking couple!! That traffic does NOT look good at all though.. I hate driving busy roads and majorly winding roads with semis. Freaks me out!!
It’s fun to get the blog data. Blogger doesn’t send me an annual report though 😦 I will have to beat down their door! I do enjoy your posts, so keep em coming!
    Happy New Year!

  5. I wish blogspot told me how many sold out performances it would take for everyone to view my blog! You can tell you are a teacher, as most of your posts are Sundays 🙂 Look at me being active in commenting! It looks like Heather beat me, so I hearby challenge her to a rematch in 2015!!! Going back to read your Paleo Diet post….

  6. New Year’s Eve is just another night to me. I actually think the entire thing is stupid and overrated. How’s that for a bah humbug? 😀 I’m going to spend it with my very best friends, probably laughing about stupid stuff like we always do. Your Christmas looks wonderful and you and your mom are adorable!

  7. It looks like you had a lovely Christmas. Finally – a picture of you and your man!!! 😉

I’ve enjoyed so many of your posts. The race recaps and humor that you insert is quite enjoyable.
